ERLIVION GLOBAL LLC ("we," "us," or "our") operates the seottak mobile application and the website located at seottak.com (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal information when you use our Service.
By accessing or using seottak, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with the practices described herein, please do not use the Service.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide Directly
- Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and, optionally, a display name. Authentication is handled through Supabase Auth, which may support email/password sign-in and third-party OAuth providers (e.g., Google, Apple).
- Waitlist Information: If you sign up for our pre-launch waitlist, we collect the email address you provide.
- Support Communications: If you contact us at hello@seottak.com, we retain the content of your correspondence to respond to your inquiry.
1.2 Information Generated Through Use
- Learning Progress: Vocabulary mastery levels, quiz scores, spaced-repetition intervals, session history, XP earned, and streak data.
- User Preferences: Language settings, notification preferences, display preferences, and selected learning levels (A1 through C2).
- Usage Data: Features accessed, session duration, learning mode selections, and interaction patterns within the app.
1.3 Information Collected Automatically
- Device Information: Device type, operating system version, app version, and unique device identifiers.
- Log Data: IP address, access times, and error logs generated during your use of the Service.
1.4 Information We Do Not Collect
- We do not collect precise geolocation data.
- We do not access your contacts, photos, or files on your device.
- We do not send push notifications (the app does not use push notification services).
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Service, including personalized learning experiences.
- Track and display your learning progress, streaks, and achievements.
- Improve and optimize the Service based on usage patterns and feedback.
- Communicate with you about your account, respond to inquiries, and send service-related notices.
- Process subscription payments and manage your account tier (free or premium).
- Detect, prevent, and address technical issues, fraud, or abuse.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
We process your data on the legal bases of contract performance (to deliver the Service you signed up for), legitimate interest (to improve the Service), and consent (where applicable, such as marketing communications).
3. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored and processed using Supabase, a cloud-hosted platform that provides database, authentication, and file storage services. Supabase infrastructure is hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS) in secure data centers.
We implement the following security measures:
- All data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted using TLS (Transport Layer Security).
- Database access is protected by Row-Level Security (RLS) policies, ensuring users can only access their own data.
- Authentication tokens are securely managed and expire after a defined period.
- Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms and are never stored in plain text.
- Some learning data is cached locally on your device using encrypted local storage (Drift and Hive) for offline access.
While we take reasonable measures to protect your information, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.

We use the following third-party services that may process your data in accordance with their own privacy policies:

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We may share your information only in the following circumstances:
- Service Providers: With the third-party providers described in Section 4, strictly to operate the Service.
- Legal Requirements: When required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.
- Protection of Rights: To enforce our Terms of Service, protect the safety of our users, or defend against legal claims.
- Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, in which case you will be notified of any change in data handling practices.

6.2 European Economic Area (EEA) Residents — GDPR

6.3 California Residents — CCPA / CPRA
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) grants you the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete your personal information, and the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. 6.4 South Korean Residents — PIPA
If you are a resident of South Korea, the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) provides you with rights to access, correct, delete, and suspend processing of your personal data. We handle your data in compliance with applicable provisions of PIPA.

7. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the Service. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g., for tax, legal, or audit purposes).
Aggregated, anonymized data that cannot identify you may be retained indefinitely for analytics and service improvement purposes.
8. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
Our website (seottak.com) may use essential cookies to ensure proper functionality, such as session management. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
The seottak mobile application does not use cookies. Local data storage on your device (for offline learning progress) is managed through the app's internal database and is not shared with third parties.
9. International Data Transfers
ERLIVION GLOBAL LLC is based in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers maintain facilities. By using the Service, you consent to the transfer of your information to countries that may have different data protection laws than your country of residence.
For users in the EEA, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and other appropriate safeguards for international data transfers as required by the GDPR.
10. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under these age thresholds. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under the applicable age, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.
